PLay Group trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Here's some pictures of our Play Group's trip to the Pumpkin Patch. This time even the mom's got their pictures taken! We were so lucky the rain held out for us to venture out to the pumpkin patch - not 20 minutes after we left it started to rain! We just had to get our cuties pictures with the pumpkins! (Thanks Amy for creating the collage!)

9 months old!

Well its hard to believe that Charlie is already 9 months old! He is getting sooo big! Yet he is still little!

I had him weighed and measured on Monday and he is weighing in at 20lbs! He is 27 inches long (this is just an estimate as he moves around too much to really get a good measurement!) Charlie is moving all over the place. Still doing the army slide but we call it crawling! We think its what we're going to get with the hardwood floors! Maybe he'll go right to walking! It's funny in the last week or so he discovered there's other rooms inthe house besides the living room! So now he ventures to the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. So we have to make sure all the doors are closed.

We've been having some issues with Charlie sleeping thru the night lately....he's sleeping great for his morning and afternoon naps...but settling down for the night isn't going so well! He's also been waking up one or two times throughout the night as well. We think its because he's teething and he's growing! I spoke with the Health nurse on Monday and she said these little babies minds are growing soo fast that they wake themselves up at night. So lets just hope this is the case and Charlie's working on his genius status!!!!! I'm sure this is temporary...and he'll start sleeping again!

As I mentioned, he's teething...just no teeth have popped out yet! We are waiting patiently for this! Almost all his friends have teeth - we don't want Charlie to be left out!!!!

Another trip to the pumpkin patch!

We went on another trip to the pumpkin patch (this one is on Lickman Road - just past the highway overpass) over the Thanksgiving long weekend. There were lots of pumpkins to choose from. Plus lots of photo ops! Daddy searched and searched for the biggest and roundest pumpkin! Charlie was more interested in the dirt!
"I think this one Daddy!"

Thanksgiving in Vancouver

For the Thanksgiving weekend, Grandma and Grandpa booked two hotel rooms in downtown Vancouver for all of us to stay over night! Our room was very high up - the 28th floor! The view was amazing!Charlie wasn't sure what to think of it! But he did like to look out the window!

On Sunday, we went to the Vancouver Aquarium! Charlie was amazed by all the fishes! Above he is sitting with Trent and Grandma by the Shark tank. Swimming by is a big Sea Turtle. Trent liked the fish tanks with the fishes from Finding Nemo. In this tank, he saw Bruce - the shark and Crush - the Sea Turtle! In a differnt tank he saw Nemo's, Dory's and Gils! (When Trent came over on Tuesday - we had to watch Finding Nemo!) The picture below is Charlie and Daddy watching the Dolpins. They were swimming very fast that Charlie didn't know where to look next! We had a great time at the Aquarium!

My first Pumpkin!

After the tour at the Farm we got to go pick out a pumpkin. Trent wanted a really big one! Charlie got a baby pumpkin...just the perfect size!

Mommy and Daddy still have to carve it!

At the Pumpkin Patch

Charlie joined Trent's pre-school class at Greenhill Acres Farm. Mommy took a bunch of pictures of him in the pumpins.

"Can you tell me how to get....

....how to get to Sesame Street!" Charlie loves to watch Sesame Street. He doesn't watch much TV...but I have to say it is a great babysitter when I need to have a shower! Just stick him in his Hop n' Pop and turn on Sesame Street or Treehouse! Charlie's all time favourite is ELMO! Maybe for Christmas he'll get the new Tickle Me Elemo!!!!

Matching T-shirts

Mom got Charlie and Trent matching shirts from Old Navy! here they are modelling the shirts with Granny!

Play Group at Ellenor's house!

Here is a group photo of our group last Thursday at Ellenor's house! Starting on the left standing is Kaelen (she is almost exactly 1 month younger than Charlie - I met her mommy at our Prenatal class), next is Keira (we met at the Baby Tme at the Health Clinic). Then sitting on the left is Owen (also met his mommy at Prenatal) then is cutey patutey Charlie! then Ellenor (met at Baby Time), Then Olivia (met for the first time here) then lying down is Presley (she only 3 months old so she can't sit yet!)

We decided to get together once a week - trading homes as we all get together at the Health Clinic - and it can get pretty noisy and busy. and this is a nicer way to get out of the house and visit! Something nice to look forward to every week! It'll be too bad when we all go back to work in the New Year! We'll have to figure out a way to still meet up!

Is this Irony or what?

In case you can't quite read his shirt...it says "I can't read"....and he's looking at a book! OK, I set this photo up...but I thought it was funny! Aunty Kristen made a bunch of these kinds of shirts for Charlie when he was first born...and now they fit him!

testing...

trying to add a new post...this is only a test....

A Brief Update...Now that Charlie is 8 months old!

As it has been a while since our last update here you go....
As of Monday Charlie weighed 19lbs 13oz - so close to the 20lb mark!!! He is still very close to crawling...well he does crawl just not the tradition crawl! He kind of slithers! but if he really wants something...he can really move! His favourite is the gas fireplace!!! Yes - fireplace! Yikes! We did an experiment and discovered the bottom part of the fireplace does not get hot - a bit of a relief. Still, when he starts to get close to it - He gets a firm.."THAT'S HOT"! And then we take him away. He has started to cry a bit when we take him away...so maybe he's figuring it out! Who knows! But at least we know if we leave the room...when the fire place is on...and he touches it...he won't burn his skin off!

Anyways...he also does this really hilarious butt slide! If I have him sitting playing with toys...he'll start to pull himself with his arms! It is hilarious! The first time he did it - it reminded up of a TLC show I watched where the woman was born without the bottom half of her torso (no legs) and she pulled herself around with her arms...so when Charlie started doing this...it kinda freaked me out a bit! But now I just think its funny!!!

Charlie is still eating really good! We even tried some chicken the other day. We had chicken for dinner - so I cut up some for Charlie...he loved it! Haven't tried any other meat yet....(oh and just in case you're curious....his poop after eating chicken...pretty nasty!!!!) Just thought I would share that little tidbit of info!!!!!

Charlie is pretty much sleeping through the night. He goes down (usually) between 8 and 8:30 and is usually good until about 4:30 (he's up for a bout 10 min) and then back to sleep until 7:30 or 8. He is also really good about having morning and afternoon naps...only about 45 min to an hour...but this works for me!

Mommy started curling again...and Daddy has had to look after Charlie. Well Charlie is in bed when I go...but I think he senses that I am gone because both times I"ve gone out...Charlie has woken up about an hour after I"ve left. So Daddy has to get him to go back to sleep. This usually entails going for a drive! Hey - gotta do what works right!

Mommy and Charlie enjoy going out once a week to our play group. This is a group of us that met at the Health Clinic Baby Time drop in. Our babies are all about the same age and we would get together every Monday and visit...we just decided why not do this at our homes instead. This is great for the Mommy's to get out of the house, talk to other moms about baby stuff...or not about baby stuff! and good for the baby's to get to play with other baby's their own age! I only wish we had thought about this sooner! (I have some pictures of the kids playing...but for some reason I am having trouble uploading pictures! Will have to see what the deal is!)

Wow! I think that is quite the update....will try not to be so long for the next one! Hopefully I can firgure out why I can't upload any pictures...I have a bunch that are really cute!

Car Washes...bad!

So we are trying to sell my car...I love my car...but its a two door...and I'm just not a contortionist (sp?) to get Charlie into the back seat!!! So we are attempting to sell my car - and get a four door. Anyways...we have a girl coming to look at it on Monday (fingers crossed) so we went to get gas last night and thought we would go thru the car wash as well - get it all nice and clean and shiny! Well it started out good...but very sooon...as the car wash covered with soap...Charlie started to get a little freaked out! Then he got really freaked out!!!! We figured we've scarred him for life now...

So note to self...never take a baby into a car wash...it will be a long and loud experience! (He was still crying on the way home!!) Poor little guy!

Just hanging out reading!

This morning while making Charlie's breakfast I left him in the living room. He's not really crawling yet so I felt ok just leaving him alone for a few minutes. I could hear him playing with his toy...then I didn't hear any noise...so I was a bit concerned. Wondering what did he get into I went to the living room. I found him reading his book! Too cute. I quickly went to get my camera to take a few pics! Our son...already knows how to pose for pictures! he heard the beep beep of the camera focusing and looks up with a huge grin!

Introducing Jeanluca

This is our good friends Sonia and Andre's newest addition - Jeanluca! He was born August 24.

We finally got to see him on Sunday. He's sooo tiny. I forgot that Charlie was this tiny. (Charlie was the same weight when he was born!) When I was holding Jeanluca he felt like a feather compared to Charlie! We can't wait for the two of them to play together! They're going to be best friends...we hope!!!!

Charlie's Cousin Joey's First Birthday!

This is Charlie and his cousin Joey. We celebrated Joey's First Birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Honeyman's house. It's amazing how close in size these two guys are no. This is a picture of the two of them when Charlie was about a week old! Amazing how they eventually catch up!

Bridal Falls

while "camping" we decided to make the hike up to Bridal falls. I have to say...it was tougher than I thought it was - but we made it! Charlie must have loved the gravel path...he fell asleep soon after we started on our way!

Long weekend Camping trip...sorta!

For the long weekend we had intended to camp with my parents at Camperland. Well the intentions were there...however Charlie had different plans. I guess it was just too strange a place. He did not want to sleep! He'd just about be Ben came in and said "you know...we're only 10 minutes from home - we could go home...sleep and come back for breakfast" So this is what we decided to do! We'd head up first thing in the morning and stay for the campfire and then head home. It was perfect! Got to sleep in our own bed! have a shower in the morning! But still enjoy camping! Works for me!!!!

The first night...Charlie was asleep before we hit the freeway - which if you don't know...its about 5min to the freeway from camperland! When we got home I wasn't too sure if he'd wake up when we took him out of his car seat...it didn't even faze him! I guess by this point he was sooo tired - nothing could wake him!

Some catching up to do...

Well once again its been a while since my last update! Oh well...we've been busy! Let's see...what's new with Charlie!
It seems that now that Charlie is 7 months - he's found his voice! Daddy and I laugh sooo much at some of the noises he makes! He sings...he laughs...he talks...he screams...he growls...we love hearing his new sounds!

He sits up by himself totally unasisted. I hardly ever put pillows behind him anymore. Of course every once in a while he gets a bit too excited and he falls backwards! Ouch! That hardwood floor is hard! Charlie is sooo close to crawling...he gets up on all fours and his bum just starts a movin'!!! When he's in his sleeper he slides all over the place...(we have started baby prooffing!) The coffee table compartments will be empty very soon!

Charlie is hilarious...he is facinated with light fixtures! He just stares at them...even if the light isn't turned on!!!!

We've tried Cheerios. He can pick them up with his fingers...but them not sure how to get them into his mouth! But he eats them if I feed them to him! He still has a "not to sure" look on his face with every piece I give him!!!!

Charlie has also started to clap his hands by himself! Sooo cute! I'll say "Yeah Charlie" and he claps!

I think that's a pretty good update of what he's been up to soo far in his 7th month!
