you have got to check out this link! scroll down abit...the first couple of picutes are just fine...but then you get to BACON WRAPPED MEATLOAF! Seriously!?!?? Then pototoes gratin....rosemary rolls...and then desert...oh right! It's fruit...Man! here I am trying to eat heathly...and then I see this! I think I gained 5lbs just looking at the pictures!!!

I will be strong...I won't attempt any of these recipes! I will leave them for Pioneer Woman to share with her family...but DANG! they sure look yummy!!!!

MORNING ROUTINE

For the past month or so our morning routine consists of this:
Sam waking up at exactly 6:03!!! Seriously it’s like he had an alarm clock….I’d bring him into our bed in attempt to get him to maybe, just maybe fall back asleep for another hour! We all know how well that went! He’d snuggle with me for about 2 minutes, before crawling over my head….kicking Daddy…trying to crawl to the foot of the bed…giving me a heart attack that he would fall off the bed…until I finally give up and go to the living room on the couch and let Sam play with his toys! Of course the toy he chose to play with…yes you guessed it THE.LOUDEST-POSSIBLE.TOY. he owns!!!!

Well this past week (and I know by writing this I’m tempting fate with the universe and Sam will this time wake up at 5:03!!!! But I’m gonna do it!) This past week…Sam has actually slept thru his alarm and is waking around 7:10! A much better hour of the morning…if there is such a thing!

Most mornings Charlie is still asleep through all of this. But every so often he too wakes up….The other morning (we’re still in bed…Sam’s with us) he calls out “Is it time to get up yet? (Since he’s been in a toddler/big boy bed he’s slept with the door closed…always… and will not get up to open it himself until we tell him too!) Anyways…he calls out…”is it time to get up yet? I yell back (totally joking) “NOPE!” So about 5 maybe 10 minutes go by…and he hasn’t come out yet…so I call to him…”why aren’t you coming out?” He calls back…”because he told me not too!”

Such an obedient child!

Life with boys....

I grew up in a house with all girls…except my Dad. There are three of us…and my mom…and we only had ONE bathroom! My poor father is all I can say. Oh but they put in the second bathroom after we all moved out! What’s the deal with that! (That became my dad’s bathroom!!!!) He finally had his own private domain!!!

Well I get my payback…I have two boys so now I’m the one who is outnumbered! And wow the boy genes sure do kick in early!!!

Sam who is just a year old already laughs at fart and burps!!! Oh yes….he burps he laughs…Charlie burps - they BOTH laugh!!! Sam has also discovered that when he farts in the tub it creates bubbles…again with the LAUGHS!!!

And all I can do is shake my head and laugh too!!!!

What's going on here!!!!

Seriously…it’s been almost a year since I’ve made a post!!! There’s something wrong here! I mean I should have time to post something daily that’s going on in our lives right? RIGHT…oh yeah I have 2 kids (2 kids which should mean double the work of having one…right….WRONG! Try quadruple the work)… Oh yah…AND I work full time!!!!

Well I am feeling inspired…I am taking a page or pages from some of my new favourite mommy bloggers…if you haven’t found these guys yet I strongly encourage you to do so! They are fabulous! www.dooce.com she even has a book! I have it…if anyone wants to borrow!!! You will find yourself laughing out loud! I usually read in bed…just before going to sleep…and several times I’d laugh out loud and Ben would call me a freak! But she’s really funny! Oh yah - she’s even been a question on Jeopardy! (I’m just saying!)
The second mommy blogger… www.amalah.com also fabulous!!! Oh and you have go to read Pioneer woman! Actually more importantly you have to read her story of how her and husband met… here. I dare you to stop after one chapter!!!!

So last week I’m driving with the boys somewhere…I have no idea where…probably to Crazy town! Anyways…I’m listening to the GLEE 2 soundtrack (I can’t tell you how much I love GLEE!!!!) anyways..Charlie’s newest thing is asking what the song is called…so I’m all it’s called “you can’t always get what you want” and when the chorus came – I sang along and had Charlie sing along too! He then proceeded to say “I like this song”. Later that night when getting jammies on he started singing it again….is was very cute!!!!
Sam – well any song he hears he bops his head…which makes him even cuter!

Stay tuned...this is seriously going to be a regular thing for me!

Flowers for mommy

How surprised was I when Charlie came home with this lovely bouquet of flowers!
He picked them all by himselve (so he said - I think he had some help from gramma) And don't worry....he got them from a yard of someone he knew...he didn't just randomly pick some flowers from a strangers garden! apparently he was going to hand me the flowers and then tell me he loved me....but all he said was i picked some roses for you mommy! How lucky am I to have such a sweet boy!

Preschool

Starting the begining of march - we enrolled Charlie in pre-school. He goes 2 mornings a week. Right away - he loved it. I also discovered a "free" preschool called Strong Start. We go to a local Elementary School one morning a week. We are joined by some of our friends too...Keira, Olivia, Damien and Jacob.

Having fun in the kitchen....Charlie's cooking up some dangerous stuff...see the goggles!

Jolly jumper FUN!

We noticed that Sam was starting to hold his head up on his own -so we thought we would put together the Jolly Jumper. As soon as we put him in - he started jumping away! He thought it was great!!!! (As you can see by his face!)

Puzzle time...

did you know that by wearing the puzzle box on your head...it helps you know where to put the puzzle piece!!!! Every time Charlie does a puzzle he puts the box in his head...seems to work for him!

First Smile...

We were so lucky to capture sams first smile! He actually smiled for mommy the day before...but on January 29, 2009 - Daddy was playing with Sam and got him to smile lots. Mommy was quick with the camera and got all these gorgeous shots!!! Such a cutie!!!

Charlie's 3rd Birthday

This years theme for Charlie's 3rd Birthday was a cars theme. Mommy made the racetrack cake...the kids made a picture frame with cars decoration and generally just ran around and made lots of noise! And that's why we rented a church hall once again! Charlie was once again spoiled with all kinds of toys!

Introducing SAM!

OK - it's been like forever since I've updated the blog...and everyone has seen these pics of the birth of sam...I just thought I would start back updating with pics of his birth! He was born Dec. 16, 2008 at 12:10pm. As most have heard it was a super fast delivery...I was induced at 9am and by 10:30am (on my way home from the hospital) I started having pretty major contractions! Went back to the hospital and delivered Mr. Sam in about 5 pushes!

Having fun with my Big Cousin Matt!

This is Charlie's Big Cousin Matt. He's almost 20 - and is still just a big kid...He collect nerf guns! He shared his toys with Charlie when we went for a visit! Charlie thought these were the best things ever!
check out the size of this gun! It's insane! Here after Charlie shot one missile - Matt had Charlie go get them...then he proceeded to shoot at Charlie! Nice guy! But Charlie just laughed and laughed!

Matt is also really tall...so he can lift Charlie up really really high! Charlie just kept saying "again...again!"

Whistler for the weekend

Forgot to add these pics earlier...
We joined my parents and Trent in Whistler for the weekend. The weather was not in our favour - cold and rainy! But we had a relaxing weekend just the same! Charlie and Trent in the hot tub! Before the plunge into the pool!
Grandma was brave enough to go into the pool with the boys! (The pool water wasn't cold...but the air sure was!)
I know this kinda looks like Charlie is drowning...but he really is swimming!!!! All by himself....with the help of a life-jacket!
What to do when it's raining...watch a movie and eat popcorn! Yum!
So the rain did stop long enough for us to take a walk down to the lower village (We were staying inthe upper village). And we had to have a beaver tail for a snack! Whistler's beaver tails were the healthy version....made with whole wheat flour and baked! Tasty...but not as tasty as the traditional deep fried version!!!!
